The works of German composer and pianist Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827) are defined by incredible intellectual depth and honesty. Their musical expressions of heroism and struggle reflect his personal tragedies, including hearing loss and a tumultuous family life. A key figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras in music, Beethoven remains one of the most recognized and influential of all composers.
Beethoven's career is typically divided into three periods – early, middle, and late. By his later years, his sense of hearing had almost completely vanished. Interestingly, many of Beethoven’s most admired and important classical music works emerged during this decade of his life.
This handwritten manuscript of Violin Sonata No. 10 in G Major is Beethoven's final violin sonata. It was written in 1812 for Pierre Rode, the greatest French violinist of the era, and was first performed by Rode and Archduke Rudolph, to whom the work is dedicated.
Today, the composition can be found at the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York. We first published this composition as an Embellished Manuscript in 2007, and now, 12 years later, we are delighted to bring it back as a Special Edition commemorating Beethoven’s 250th birthday. Whatever way you choose to use this journal, we hope it inspires you to create your own masterpiece.

Paperblanks is a Canadian manufacturer that produces quality notebooks that are not only attractive but also extremely well-structured, bound using traditional techniques; the bindings are not glued (a binding technique that is economical for the manufacturer but eventually leads to page loss) but are instead all sewn.
All Paperblanks notebooks are bound using one of two methods. They are either hand-sewn using 'Coptic' binding, which originated in 4th-century Egypt, or Smythe sewn, the most durable binding technique, which allows the notebook to lie flat without page loss.
All Paperblanks notebooks use acid-free, archival-quality, and high-opacity fine laid writing paper. Their notebooks also feature a ribbon page marker and an inner pocket inside the back cover for storing your notes.
