Paperblanks is a Canadian manufacturer that produces high-quality journals that are not only attractive but also extremely well-constructed, bound using traditional techniques; the bindings are not glued (a technique that is economical for the manufacturer but eventually leads to page loss) but are instead all sewn.
All Paperblanks journals are bound using one of two methods. They are either hand-sewn using 'Coptic' binding, which originated in 4th-century Egypt, or Smythe-sewn, which is the most durable binding technique, allowing the journal to lie flat without losing any pages.
All Paperblanks journals use acid-free, archival-quality, high-opacity, laid paper. Their journals also feature a ribbon marker and an inner pocket inside the back cover for storing your notes.
