Rebecca Yarros, who took the literary world by storm in 2023 with the release of Fourth Wing, has revitalized the romance genre for a whole new generation of readers. The book's reach to a wide audience and its status as an instant bestseller, including reaching the top of the Sunday Times and New York Times lists, reflects its significant cultural footprint and the resurgence of the genre. Set in a dystopian world where dragon riders play a crucial role in defending their realm, the Empyrean series revolves around 20-year-old Violet Sorrengail as she faces the brutal realities of Basgiath War College. Despite her physical challenges, including a genetic condition that affects her joints, Violet's journey is full of resilience and strategic intelligence. As she navigates the ruthless training required to become a dragon rider, her character defies traditional fantasy tropes, offering readers a heroine who is both powerful and deeply human. Yarros's ability to create complex characters and intricate worlds has endeared her to a wide audience beyond traditional fans of the romance and fantasy genres. Her approach to themes such as resilience, identity, and the power of relationships resonates deeply with readers, especially through Violet's struggles and growth. As Yarros continues to push the boundaries of genre fiction, her works not only entertain but also challenge and expand our understanding of what fantasy literature can be. In her interviews, Yarros emphasizes the importance of creating a world where characters can overcome immense challenges despite their weaknesses, highlighting that true strength is not just physical, but lies in both the heart and the mind. The series also stands out for its diverse representation. By featuring characters with disabilities like Violet and members of the LGBTQ community, Yarros challenges traditional notions of heroism in fantasy literature. This inclusivity has attracted many readers who long to see themselves in the stories they love. The cultural impact of the Empyrean series is further strengthened by its active and engaged fan community. Online platforms like BookTok have come alive with discussions about the series, and fans have created theories, fan art, and even their own stories inspired by Violet's journey. Given the immense success of the Empyrean series, it is only fitting to celebrate this groundbreaking work with a special collection. We are thrilled to partner with Rebecca Yarros and Red Tower Publishing, through our collaboration with Hachette UK, to bring the magic of Violet's world to the Paperblanks collection. This initial release encapsulates the seductive and mysterious magic of the book series, and we hope that it may in some way inspire your own magical love story.

Paperblanks is a Canadian manufacturer that produces quality notebooks that are not only attractive but also extremely well-structured, bound using traditional techniques; the bindings are not glued (a binding technique that is economical for the manufacturer but eventually leads to page loss) but are instead all sewn.
All Paperblanks notebooks are bound using two methods. They are either hand-sewn using 'Coptic' binding, which originated in 4th-century Egypt, or Smyth sewn, which is the most durable binding technique, allowing the notebook to lie flat without page loss.
All Paperblanks notebooks use acid-free, archival-quality, high-opacity fine laid writing paper. Their notebooks also include a ribbon page marker and an inner pocket inside the back cover to store your notes.
