Our Vienna Fruits design features the work of renowned Art Nouveau illustrator Anton Seder. Inspired by Seder’s 1890 work Die Pflanze in Kunst und Gewerbe, or The Plant in Art and Trade. We were drawn to this piece by Seder’s harmonious use of space, abundance of detail and intimate depiction of natural elements.

Paperblanks is a Canadian manufacturer that produces high-quality journals that are not only attractive but also extremely well-structured and bound using traditional techniques; the bindings are not glued (a binding technique that, while economical for the manufacturer, eventually leads to page loss) but are instead all sewn.
All Paperblanks journals are bound using one of two methods. They are either hand-sewn using 'Coptic' binding, which originated in 4th-century Egypt, or Smyth sewn, which is the most durable binding technique and allows the journal to open flat without page loss.
All Paperblanks journals use acid-free, archival-quality, high-opacity, laid writing paper. Their journals also include a ribbon marker and an internal pouch inside the back cover to store your notes.
